My Favourite Long-Wear Matte Lipsticks

April 19, 2017 2 min read

I’ve always had an intense obsession with lipsticks. Seeing the rows of lipsticks arranged neatly over a makeup counter like little soldiers always filled me with excitement. Over the years, I’ve amassed quite a vast collection of lip products (from lip liners, glosses to matte lipsticks) and now I’m too scared to count how many I actually have! Lately, I’ve also started being more adventurous with my lipsticks to reflect my mood; wearing black ala Rihanna, grey ala Kylie J or pastel purple ala Jeffree Star.

While I don’t have dry or flaky lips, I know it’s a condition that plagues many women. If you hate touching up anytime during the day (seriously, who has the time?) and getting your hair stuck to lip glosses, matte lipsticks are the way to go. Gone are matte lipsticks with limited colours or those that dry up your lips faster than the Sahara Desert! Before I list down my favourite long-wear matte lipsticks, here are two useful tips to get your lips looking plump and stunning! Most long-wear lipsticks tend to be drying so you need to get rid of your flaky dead skin first. A good time to exfoliate would be when you are getting ready in the morning as you can exfoliate gently with a clean toothbrush or a towel. Alternatively, you can use a lip scrub.

After exfoliation, don’t forget to apply lip moisturizer so your lips stay plump and juicy. You don’t need to get fancy with the moisturizer; Vaseline does the trick well and it’s cheap!

It’s time to treat yourself for working your butts off, warriors! Here’s a list of my favourite matte lipsticks, which range from high-end to the more affordable brands.

And of course, Zahara’s very own All-Day Matte Lipcreams in 5 luscious shades! Click here to buy some happy for yourself and your girlfriends!
