Sailor Moon fans, rejoice! Our favourite anime heroine is flying onto the big screen next year! *squeals* The official news was announced by Sailor_Moon_NA Twitter, even though there hasn’t been any word on ticket sales or exact locations. Although the release is only confirmed for America, we’re sure that this will get the ball rolling for worldwide releases. Moon Tiara Magic!
For the first time ever, Sailor Moon R The Movie: The Promise of the Rose will play in U.S. theatres in January 2017. Although this isn’t the first English release of Sailor Moon R,2017’s one promises to use the same cast as Viz Media’s recent English releases, including Sailor Moon Crystal. They intend to have two versions to satisfy hardcore fans; one English-dubbed and one English-subtitled.
Sailor Moon R The Movieis the first of three movies (what is it with trilogies?) though there’s still speculations whether the second and third one will be released as well. The premise of this movie is that Tokyoites are being attacked by a strange alien flower and that Tuxedo Mask is kidnapped by a mysterious galactic monster. Oh, did we mention there’s also an asteroid that’s going to crash into Earth. Because…why not?
