Say Yes to Vampy Lips!

April 19, 2017 2 min read

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend…or are they? Well, lipstick is mine. No matter how tired or sleepy I look, I know that just one swipe of the right lipstick has the the power to boost my confidence and make me look and feel better. As a lipstick enthusiast, I’ve lost count of how many tubes of lippies I have at home, in my car, in my makeup bag, and next to my work desk. Of course we all have that trusty, go-to lipstick (or in my case, entire batches of them!) and now, it’s time for the dark, vampy lip to take centrestage.

Our gorgeous vampy shade: Mystery!

To be honest, I don’t understand why dark lipsticks get such a bad rep. Not so long ago, vampy lipstick was strictly categorized in the goth-girl or cosplay camp. Women were too scared to experiment with them for various reasons; one being that they were unforgiving especially when you made a mistake. But that’s what concealers are for, ladies!

Fast-forward to 2016, where women are now more adventurous in their lifestyles and lip choices. Yay! Now, you see dark lips everywhere, from the runway shows to the streets. Benefits of a rebellious dark pout: highlighting your complexion AND making a bold statement! There’s no denying women who wear dark lipsticks carry this quiet, dignified power and flaunt a DGAF attitude…and who doesn’t want that? With so many shades and finishes available from so many brands, you can definitely find one that flatters your skin tone.  See four women of diverse skin tones rocking dark, vampy lips!
