ZAHARA WARRIOR LEA AZLAN

Tengku Ezulia binte Tengku Nun Ahmad, better known as Lea Azlan, is an ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) doctor and a fashion enthusiast. Hailing from Kota Bahru, Kelantan, her stylish OOTD shots and chic fashion style has made her so popular, she currently has over 49000 followers on Instagram! This 29 year-old stunner has also appeared in numerous Malaysian magazines such as Nona and Nur and Lea not only advocates beauty, but the importance of health as well. Zahara was privileged to have a chat with the busy doctor who is an inspiration to aspiring doctors everywhere!

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
A lot of people think I drink like gallons of soy milk because of my skin complexion but I don’t. In fact, I hate it. Just the smell of it makes me nauseous.

It’s awesome that you’re working in the medical field! Tell us more about what you do.
This year marks my 7^th year working as a doctor. I’m currently a final year surgical resident taking my Masters in Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Not much to say about my job. People who have ear, nose, and throat problems come to see me and I treat them. And yes, I cut people open for a living.

As a Zahara Warrior, what advice would you give someone hoping to be in medicine?
Sharing is charing, but with Zahara Warriors, I will share more. My advice is in medicine, there is no short cut. It doesn’t need a genius to become a doctor. But you need to be dedicated, hardworking, always keep up-to-date with the fast-moving advancement in medicine and surgery, be compassionate but strong-willed, and above all, realize that you can only do your very best but the end result is in God’s hands.

I love Audrey Hepburn. She is definitely my timeless style muse. I also love Leighton Meester’s character, Blair Waldorf, in Gossip Girl.

What is the proudest accomplishment of your life so far?
When I become wife to my husband. I aimed to get him and then I got him. Score! Hehe! Also, becoming a doctor because I think I have done amazing things with this job that God has blessed me and I wish to help people more.

What is on your bucket list?
First, I hope to pass my final Master’s exam in November so that I can become a fully-pledged ENT surgeon. Second, after I’m done with my exam, I’d like to get pregnant and have a baby and figure out what motherhood is all about.
