Zahara: What’s on your to-do list for next week?
Rosie: Meetings, editing, laundry, photo shoots, makeup appointments, wash my car
Zahara: Describe yourself in 3 words.
Rosie: Bold, Creative, Happy
Zahara: We know you as a talented makeup artist but your love for art is beyond that. What else do you love creating?
Rosie: Images! I love putting things together for a good photograph!
Zahara: When did you discover your love for makeup?
Rosie: As a kid, I used to paint and draw a lot and as I got a little older, maybe around 9 or 10 years of age, I started experimenting with makeup - recreating looks I saw in magazines for fun!
Zahara: Tell us more about your journey as a makeup artist. When did you decide to pursue it professionally?
Rosie: I worked as a face-painter throughout high school. When I went to college, I started doing makeup and photographing friends for their portfolios! That was when I realized that I wasn’t that bad at all! So I decided to give it a shot and things just started picking up from there.
Zahara: What were some challenges you faced when pursuing makeup artistry?
Rosie: I faced a lot of challenges at the very beginning. Basically, just trying to stay afloat in the business and getting a name for myself as a makeup artist, it wasn’t that easy, as you really have to earn it.
Zahara: How supportive were your family members with your choice of career?
Rosie: Very supportive as they know that I’m a creative person ❤
Zahara: What advice would you give to girls who aspire to follow in this field?
Rosie: Jump in! Grow as you go, as long as there is a passion and you enjoy it, you’ll be just fine!
